The instructor explained that a small oversight can escalate into injuries, equipment loss, production interruption and damage to facilities or nearby inventory. For the carpet industry, effective fire prevention therefore depends on disciplined daily checks, clear work areas, accessible equipment and employees who understand their roles.

Prevention was presented as a shared routine rather than a responsibility limited to safety personnel. The instructor clarified that different fire types require different responses and that unsuitable equipment can make a dangerous situation worse. Employees should follow the factory's posted emergency procedures and never attempt firefighting beyond their training. This practical decision-making framework helped participants understand when to act, when to withdraw and how to protect colleagues nearby.

During the practical exercise, employees came forward to learn how to inspect and operate a fire extinguisher under supervision. They practiced removing the safety pin, aiming at the base of a simulated fire, squeezing the handle and sweeping from side to side. This hands-on approach turned fire safety training from a list of instructions into a skill employees could understand and remember.

The lecture also reviewed evacuation routes and the meaning of common fire safety signs.
