Carpet Installation Guide

Step1
Site cleaning and inspection
Thoroughly clean the installation area before construction. Ensure the floor is flat, solid, dry and free of construction debris, dust and sundries. Any obvious bumps, cracks or uneven spots on the floor shall be repaired in advance to guarantee good carpet installation results.

Step2
Fix tack strips
Sed ut perspiciatis unde omnis iste natus error sit voluptatem accusantium Fasten special carpet tack strips along all wall perimeters. Install the strips firmly with uniform orientation. Keep a 6‑7 mm gap from the wall according to the thickness of carpet and underlay to prepare for subsequent carpet stretching and securing.

Step3
Lay the underlay
Lay dedicated carpet underlay according to site dimensions. Keep the underlay flat and wrinkle‑free. Join adjacent pieces tightly without overlapping, and tape joints securely to prevent shifting during installation.

Step4
Carpet measuring and dry‑laying
Unroll the carpet following site dimensions and layout plan. Dry‑lay in the required installation direction. Confirm pile direction, pattern orientation and seam positions in advance. Leave adequate allowances when cutting for later stretching, securing and perimeter finishing.

Step5
Carpet cutting and matching
Overlap adjacent carpet pieces by 3‑5 cm before cutting to achieve tight, even seam edges. Ensure consistent pile direction and natural pattern matching across seams. Double‑check seam positions and overall layout after cutting.

Step6
Hot‑melt seaming and edge pre‑fixing
Place special seaming tape beneath carpet joints. Heat the tape with a seaming iron to melt hot‑melt adhesive, align and bond carpet edges precisely. Tuck carpet perimeters onto tack strips with a margin trowel for preliminary fixing. Control iron temperature and moving speed to avoid damage to carpet backing and pile surface.

Step7
Stretch and secure the carpet
Stretch the whole carpet with a professional power stretcher to achieve full tension. Hook carpet edges firmly onto perimeter tack strips. Apply even force during stretching to prevent wrinkles, bulges, slackness or pattern distortion.

Step8
Trimming, finishing and final inspection
Trim excess carpet along walls and transition areas such as doorways. Complete perimeter finishing work. Inspect overall flatness, seams, patterns, pile direction and edge fastening. Clean up the site and implement finished‑product protection to complete installation.
